Welcome to The Newmarket National Ten-Minute Play Festival where artists from across Canada find a “new market” for their stories and a national stage for their regional perspectives.   Twenty-four original ten-minute plays, culled from submissions from across Canada and around the world, are packaged into four “pods” of six shows each at Newmarket’s state of the art, newly refurbished Old Town Hall Theatre.

The festival features “Main Street” attractions such as Festilicious fixed price menus, art galleries, street markets, historical walking tours, and festivities.

Stage Management must be available to set up, rehearse, and perform in Newmarket, Ontario, from the end of June  through July 31, 2020.

Billeting options will be available, although those who live in the GTA will find Newmarket easily accessible by public transit (see “Getting Here”).  In previous years we ran a popular  ride sharing program that we are looking to enhance for 2020.

The Newmarket National Ten-Minute Play Festival is a Canadian Actors Equity Association production under the Festival Policy.  This is a profit-share production.  The festival is in its fourth year, and in the previous three years, 100% of the box office was paid out to shareholders.
