Newmarket National Ten Minute Play Festival

New voices.  New Perspectives.  New Market.

Dear Friends, Artists, and Supporters of the NNPF:

It is with great regret that we are posting notice that the Newmarket National Play Festival will cease operations as of November 2, 2021.

This has been a difficult decision, but the long-term fallout of Covid 19 has made it impossible for the festival to continue.

At this time, we would like to acknowledge the contributions of our executive producer, Rick Koury, who passed away suddenly in August.  Rick did everything in his power to support this festival and was instrumental in its launch back in 2016.  He will be greatly, greatly missed.

We would like to especially thank the Town of Newmarket, Ontario for their extraordinary support of the NNPF.  We would also like to thank Canadian Actors Equity, Playwrights Canada, the restaurateurs and the merchants, and, of course, our patrons who were so devoted to supporting the festival.

Most importantly, our gratitude first and foremost goes out to the playwrights, directors, designers, management personnel, performing artists, volunteers, members of the board of directors, and Town of Newmarket Staff who worked so hard to make this festival a rare jewel-- the memory of which will live on for many years.

Every thing that comes to an end is the beginning of what is to come.

The NNPF is a Canadian Actors' Equity Association production under the Festival Policy.
