Newmarket National Ten Minute Play Festival
New voices. New Perspectives. New Market.
To our patrons, artists, and playwrights…
After exploring every possible contingency, we have concluded that the 2020 Newmarket National Ten-Minute Play Festival will be unable to go ahead as planned.
We recognize the impact that this decision has upon the playwrights, performing artists, and production staff who have already committed so much time and energy to this year’s festival. In the end, the health and well-being of all those involved in the festival, our patrons, and the community at large has made this decision an absolute necessity.
We are committed to returning in 2021 for our delayed fourth season with renewed vigour and optimism. To that end, we are examining various options concerning 2020 participants and those who wish to participate in the 2021 Festival. As soon as we have the information we need to implement that plan, we will reach out to our various stakeholders.
In the meantime, we hold all of you in our hearts. We look forward to the time when we will create together again, laugh together again, and celebrate together again all that makes us distinctly Canadian.
